2. When
and where are applications due?
§
Applications are
due Tuesday, October 20th no later than 5 P.M. outside of Kerckhoff 405.
3. When
will I know if I’m in VITA?
§
We will contact
you via e-mail by Saturday, October 24th so please write your e-mail
address legibly on the application.
4. The
application asks whether or not I’ve taken MGMT 127A; do I have to have taken
MGMT 127A to be a part of VITA?
§
No, we provide
you with all the tax knowledge you’ll need; students who have already taken
MGMT 127A just have an easier time with the material.
5. What
are the requirements?
§
10 hours of
service, 8 tax returns
§
Doing well on
quizzes
§
Must attend all
training sessions
6. The
flyer mentions special networking events, what are the events that are
available?
§
There will be a
panel discussion with VITA alumni Week 6 where you can network and find out how
VITA helped with their career.
§
We will also have
an auction Week 7 where volunteers can bid on lunch or dinner with a
professional; BDO Seidman, Deloitte, Ernst &
Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers are participating.
7. When
do we begin volunteering?
§
We have off-sites
in Marina del Rey,
8. I
don’t have a car, how will I be able to attend off sites?
§
We will provide
transportation
9. The
deadline for applications has past; can I still be a part of VITA?
§
Unfortunately,
because we require all our volunteers to go through training, we cannot allow
people to sign up after the application is due.
10.
The training schedule mentions accounting
firms like Deloitte, BDO Seidman and Ernst &
Young, are they conducting the training sessions?
§
Yes, Deloitte,
BDO Seidman and Ernst & Young have volunteered to
teach some of our training sessions. Volunteers will be learning how to
complete a tax form from real tax professionals.
